I've always viewed gargoyles as being very expressive and mischievous, so modeling Pet'r after several species of monkeys felt like a great choice. The rest of the time they prowl the church grounds and its extravagant cemetery, keeping robbers out, and the undead, inside. During mass the gargoyles don robes and masks so that they may get close to the temple's visitors and perform healing rituals. He and his ancient brothers guard the Temple of Ending, a church dedicated to Kelemvor, which is the Forgotten Realm's Lord of the Dead. Every Gargoyle lays claim to a piece of civilization, and Pet'r is no exception. My current Dungeons & Dragons character - a Gargoyle Cleric! The DM was kind enough to let me deviate from the established player races and go in a more personal direction, going so far as helping me create an earth-based Cleric class, dubbed Land Domain. I chose the name Pet'r, in honor of my desktop gargoyle. Originally named Geoffrey, but my D&D group knows a Geoffrey in real life, sooooo.
